Matthew and Molly Whittington introduced ColorView lenses to NZ to treat colourblindness. The couple graduated from the University of Auckland (Bachelor of Optometry) in 1986, and opened their Kumeu optometry practice in 1993. It is a general optometry practice and they strive to remain at the forefront of equipment and eyecare knowledge, often travelling overseas to hear international speakers at optometry conferences.
At one such conference the ColorView lenses were being launched by Ian Rosser in Melbourne, Australia. After visiting Ian’s Queensland practice and observing patient assessment and response to the lenses, the Whittingtons became the NZ agents for ColorView lenses. They now distribute the lenses through NZ optometrists who have joined the Colourblind Sight Centre group.
