Our state of the art equipment
Our Nidek auto refractor measures your eye focus error at the touch of a button and we refine this with free-space lenses to work out the most accurate spectacle prescription. Eye fatigue from both internal and external eye-muscle function is assessed and spectacles or contact lenses to relieve this prescribed.
Our high-powered bio-microscope examines the front surfaces of each eye and the iris and lens within. Your eye is like a camera and the lens surfaces and clarity are critical to clear focus.
Internal pressure of the eyes is measured with the Nidek air-gauge (we don't even have to touch your eye). Raised pressure is associated with glaucoma, but many people are not aware that glaucoma can still occur in an eye with normal pressure. Therefore it is routine for us to assess the retinal sensitivity of your eyes with Zeiss frequency-doubling technology. This test targets a specific retinal layer that is very sensitive to pressure-damage, and can detect changes before vision is lost. Early treatment prevents vision loss, so regular examinations, with advanced equipment, are the key to preserving your sight.
We also offer digital retinal imaging, where an actual photograph of the inside of you eye is transferred to a monitor and manipulated by a computer program to allow a many times magnified view of the retina and optic nerve.
Your eyes are one of your greatest assets, and regular professional eye examinations are essential to protect your vision. For Eyes recommend assessment of eye health every two years. We update our equipment as needed so you are assured of a state of the art eye examination every time you visit.

Many new computer-generated lens designs are available, and provide the advantages of thin, flat appearance, reduced distortion and multifocal (near-far) focus. We have lenses to reduce reflection, lenses that darken in the sun, polarized prescription sunglass lenses, and most importantly, the expertise to help you choose the ones that are best for you.
