Colourblind Sightcentres treat colourblindness for life with ColorView lenses.

Have you been told that you are ‘colourblind’ and that nothing can be done about it? ColorView lenses change all that! Read on…

Firstly, you may wonder why you have been labeled ‘colourblind’, when you know that there are many colours that you see well. You may even be able to tell red from green on most occasions. The truth is, complete colour blindness is very rare, and over 99% of those described as colourblind are better described as being colour deficient. For these people, two-thirds of the colour-vision receptors function normally, but one-third is faulty. The faulty receptors miss the colours that they are supposed to see, but ‘fire’ for colours  that have already been processed by the normal receptors.
This leads to confusion over a range of colours (often greens, orangey-browns, mauve and purple). It also causes a loss of brightness or vividness of colours such as red,
so that, even if you can tell red from brown and green, it is a dull, uninteresting colour compared to what the colour-normal person sees.

But now, Colourblind Sightcentres treat colourblindness for life with ColorView lenses. The spectacles correct red green colour deficiency to enhance your world.

So what do ColorView lenses offer?
For the first

What is it like to be colour deficient? Move the curser onto the picture to find out. (Simulates a severe colour vision defect)
time, you will see the complete range of
colours in the colour spectrum, rather than the truncated set you are used to. If you are severely colour deficient, and have not been able to see the pohutakawa flowers on the trees or ripe tomatoes on the plant, you are in for a treat! If you are mildly colour deficient, it will be the brightness and contrast that you will notice in the world around you: the different greens on the golf course, how bright a red car looks, or the bronze and orange autumn leaves.
